The Temple of the Grand Lodge of Liberia was closed while African Freemasons take precautions against Ebola
Since Ebola started manifesting with brutality this year around the world started a press campaign of information on the gravity of this disease. Thus, the spread of Ebola on other continents may cause problems among the population.
Part of the African Grand Lodges took precautions against the disease and the most important information arrived from Liberia where the Grand Master decided to close the Grand Temple in Monrovia. The central Masonic headquarters was closed on 28 July 2014, meaning that all Masonic activities, meetings, Initiations and burials will take place no more until a new disposal of the Most Worshipful Grand Master.

Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is the human disease caused by the Ebola virus. Symptoms typically start two days to three weeks after contracting the virus, with a fever, throat and muscle pains, and headaches. There is then typically nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, along with decreased functioning of the liver and kidneys. At this point, some people begin to have problems with bleeding.
The disease can be acquired when a person comes into contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an infected animal such as a monkey or fruit bat. Fruit bats are believed to carry and spread the virus without being affected by it. Once infection of a human occurs, the disease may be spread from one person to another. Male survivors may be able to transmit the disease via their semen for nearly two months. To make the diagnosis, typically other diseases with similar symptoms such as malaria, cholera and other viral hemorrhagic fever are first excluded. The blood may then be tested for antibodies to the virus, the viral RNA, or the virus itself to confirm the diagnosis.
Prevention includes decreasing the spread of the disease from infected monkeys and pigs to humans. This may be done by checking these types of animals for infection and killing and properly disposing of the bodies if the disease is discovered. Properly cooking meat and wearing protective clothing when handling meat may also be helpful, as is wearing protective clothing and washing hands when around a person who has the disease. Samples of bodily fluids and tissues from people with the disease should be handled with special caution.
There is no specific treatment for the virus. Efforts to help persons who are infected include giving them either oral rehydration therapy or intravenous fluids. The disease has a high mortality rate: often between 50% and 90% of those who are infected with the virus. The disease was first identified in the Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It typically occurs in outbreaks in tropical regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. Between 1976, when it was first identified, through 2013, fewer than 1,000 people a year have been infected. The largest outbreak to date is the ongoing 2014 West Africa Ebola outbreak, which is affecting Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. As of July 2014 more than 1320 cases have occurred. Efforts are ongoing to develop a vaccine; however, none exists as of 2014.

Grand Master of Togo to chair one of the round tables of the World Conference of Grand Lodges
The Masonic Press Agency informs that Most Worshipful Grand Master Roggy Kossi Paass of the Togolese National Grand Lodge will chair the one of the subjects (Equality and tolerance. The Masonic values that may fundamentally define the 21st century, a century of dramatic changes) to be discussed at the World Conference of Grand Lodges in Bucharest, Romania.

Paying tribute to late Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Liberia
On 13 May 2014 the mortal remains of Right Worshipful Charles Gyude Bryant (Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Liberia) and former Chairman of the Transitional Government of Liberia will be removed from the Sameuel Stryker Funeral Parlours at 4 o'clock PM. The removal ceremony will be organized under the auspices of Oriental Lodge #1.
There will be wake-keeping at Trinity Cathedral and funeral services will be held at the same venue al 10 o'clock AM. Members of the Grand Lodge of Liberia will gather at 8 o'clock AM at the Grand Temple in Monrovia and will march to the Church.
Charles Gyude Bryant (17 January 1949 – 16 April 2014) was a Liberian politician and businessman. He served as the Chairman of the Transitional Government of Liberia from 14 October 2003 to 16 January 2006. The installation of the transitional government was part of the peace agreement to end the country's second civil war, which had raged since the Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy (LURD) rebelled against President Charles Taylor in 1999.
Bryant was previously a businessman and was chosen as chairman because he was seen as politically neutral and therefore acceptable to each of the warring factions, which included LURD, the Movement for Democracy in Liberia (MODEL), and loyalists of former President Taylor. He was a prominent member of the Episcopal Church of Liberia, and was critical of the governments of Samuel Doe (1980–90) and Taylor (1997–2003). He died on 16 April 2014 at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia.
Born in Monrovia during the early years of the Tubman era, Bryant's mother was a descendant of settlers and his father was a member of the Grebo people. He matriculated at Cuttington University in 1972, and in 1974 he married the former Rosilee Williams; together they had two children, Cheryl and Charles. Bryant also had a son named Charles Mleh. Before becoming the chairman of the interim government, he was a successful businessman operating a company that supplied machinery for the Freeport of Monrovia, and he was the chairman of the Liberian Action Party, which has since merged with President Sirleaf's Unity Party.

The 6th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Ghana will be held on Saturday, 10th May, 2014 at the Achimota Masonic Hall, Achimota School, Accra, at 10 AM. The Banquet will take place at the Fiesta Royale Hotel, Accra. This will be the first Annual Communication presided by Most Worshipful Grand Master Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI.
